A Must Have for your recording devices!

| This miniature tripod surprised me when I discovered it twisted and turned fitting easily around the opening of back of a typical conference chair holding up my Kodak Zi8 video camera while I made my presentation. I have to buy more of these for my other recording equipment as it made my life easy and it didn't bother my audience because it was virtually hidden. |
It's OK. Not the best but it will help you out in a pinch

Vidpro GP-10 - Tripod on the floor next to my stand up tripod. I bent it like this. It is ok. Good for my purposes but...
Just not as sturdy/strong as one that I saw my friend had of another brand. It wraps around things fine but the head tilts down when my camera is on it.
I have a small light canon digital camera and I think I only feel safe using it when I know the camera doesn't have far to fall.
Just not so confident in the strength of it, because of the tilting that happens.
However when you use it on surfaces where the head does not tilt, it works very well. The gripping legs are fine |
A good tripod within its limits

| I bought the Vidpro GP-10 to use with my new Canon G-11. I purchased it mostly because of its portability and flexibility. It was also less expensive than the Gorillapod. This tripod truly is small enough to put inside my camera bag, and I envision using it to wrap around chairs and tree limbs. But it is too light-weight to give the kind of steady support I want for my G-11 in most shooting situations, where I simply want to set the tripod on a level surface. It feels unstable and, in fact, has nearly tipped my camera over more than once. In these situations, if you want sharp photos, these little tripods are no substitute for a heavier, sturdier tripod (but then, they probably aren't intended to replace them). I suspect that the GP-10 probably works better with cameras lighter than my G-11. It is better than nothing in low-light situations or when the film speed makes it difficult to get sharply focused photos by hand-holding the camera. I'll continue to use the GP-10, but only as a backup or in situations where using a full-size tripod is difficult. |

| I bought this because many reviewers of my recently purchased FlipHD camcorder warned about very bouncy video results from a handheld camera. This little tripod is handy for getting yourself in the shot, but I rarely use it just to steady the camera because (1) if I keep my elbows against my body and try to stay still, the video turns out fine, and (2) most of my video is shot as real-life events are happening, so I don't have time to pull out the tripod and set it up, even though that only takes 60 seconds. That said, the tripod is inexpensive and worth buying. If you want to pose yourself in front of the Eiffel Tower, you can do it without handing the camera to a stranger who might run off with it. And if you're not worried about missing a fleeting moment, mounting the camera on the tripod WILL give you beautiful, steady video. It has a clip-in shoe so you don't have to screw in the camera every time. Just set the tripod, clip in the camera and you're rolling. |

Got this to use with my Vado pocket camera. Does everything they say it will and is well made. Because of it's bulk I recommend also ordering a spider tripod at same time, a spider will slip flat into your pocket with the camera.
I sometimes use Gripster as a pistol grip. |
